Terms & Conditions

The hirer must be 21 years of age or over and must sign to accept the full legal responsibilities of the licence holder (an officer of the society should sign where the booking is made on behalf of a society, club or other organisation). The hirer must be present at all times.

The hirer is responsible for the appointment of one steward per 50 people and the full briefing of said stewards; fire precautions etc. A record of the number attending must be kept for possible emergencies. NB. FIRE EXITS AND GANGWAYS (minimum 1.05m) MUST NOT BE OBSTRUCTED.

The purpose of the letting must be stated at the time of the booking and is acceptable at the discretion of the Management Committee.

Hirers must leave the Hall in a clean and tidy state.

Use of the school playground or grounds is not permitted under this agreement.

The hirer is responsible for the payment in respect of royalties to the Performing rights Society.

The hirer is responsible for obtaining a Temporary Event Notice for the sale of alcohol to be consumed on or off the premises. An application form can be obtained from the Booking Secretary. Strict adherence to the law regarding the supply of alcohol to under 18's must be maintained.

The Hall is not licensed for hypnotism, mesmerism or any similar activity.

There is to be no smoking in the Hall.

For all seating events chairs must be fixed together (minimum 4, maximum 12). Wheelchairs should be situated at the end of rows nearest to the Fire Exit. Disabled people must be accompanied at all times by an able attendant (adjacent).

The Management Committee will not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property, including vehicles in the car park or elsewhere. The Management Committee shall not be liable in the event that the purpose for which the Hall is hired is affected either directly or indirectly by circumstances outside their control.

The Hall is licensed for 250 persons. (200 in the Main Hall and 50 in the John Orme room). With 250 in the whole building the double doors between the two Halls must be left open.
